elf1  > Nature > Sierra Azul Wildflower Survey April 2008
Wildflower identification in Sierra Azul with the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District. Many photos blurry, sorry, not checking shutter speed and it was too slow too often. Photos are copyright Ellen Finch. You may use on your personal web site or for nonprofit if you give me credit and link back here. All others contact me.

elf1 > Filaree? Dang, there are a bunch of kinds using this common name.
elf1 > Pacific Sanicle again, this time more in bloom.
elf1 > Blue-eyed grass.
elf1 > Small yellow #11.
elf1 > Mule's ears. Huh, apparently there are several species. I KNEW that I should've been taking notes from the handy-dandy supplied sheets instead of just by ear. But, once we got past the first 50 yards where we identified about 400 flowers, we really kept moving along. So it was: snap photo quickly, rush to catch up. Snap photo quickly, rush to catch up. At least I found *some* flowers that the other three didn't see first.
elf1 > Rose clover. We think. Did I mention how many kinds of clover there were?
elf1 > Small yellow #12 plant. (Park Biologist IDs as Hounds tongue, I guess post-blossom.)
elf1 > Small yellow #12 flower. These must be seed heads, not flowers.
elf1 > Probably tomcat clover or Trifolium species.
Filaree? Dang, there are a bunch of kinds using this common name.
