Monte Bello parking lot to Black Mountain with the Sierra Club yet again, in a rapid 2-hour hike. Smoke from the thousand fires burning in California added a reddish tinge to everything and draped haze across the landscape.

Looking out from the beginning of the trail, the usual fog tendrils crept over the hilltops but an added haze hid hills beyond.
